Final seal design used to create a wax stamp
Sones Cellars Seal Stamp
I was asked by Sones Cellars Winery to design a personalized wax seal stamp.
Design Direction
The winery owners were looking for a personalized seal to use on the packaging of their port wine, Sack. The wine itself was inspired by the 16th century beverage drank during Shakespeare's time. As such, the design needed to incorporate both the branding of Sones Cellars and Shakespeare.
The Final Seal Design
Final Design
The final seal design incorporates the ship figurehead and distinctive S from Sones Cellar's logo. A 'True lover's knot' wraps above the resulting shield shape and a circle of rounded rectangles encloses the design, inspired by the signet ring thought to be owned by William Shakespeare.

Reflection
Although the proof sent back by the production company still retained a good amount of detail, the final stamp lost a lot of the smaller design on the figurehead and added a texture in the larger cut-out sections of the design. In the future I will reduce the amount of thin lines and intricacies on seal designs to avoid any loss of detail.
