Decompose is an eco-friendly multi-genre music festival taking place in Indio, California. The festival aims to bring music-lovers and environmental advocates together in a harmonious blend of music and climate action. All promotional and branding items are made from recycled and fully recyclable materials whilst single-use plastics are entirely banned from the event. Decompose strives to generate and leave as little environmental impact as possible, helping to ensure there is a vibrant world of music for generations.
A logotype and symbol is used to represent the brand’s identity containing a natural symbol to connote the festival’s themes of musical composition and the natural environment.
Decompose uses a minimal green color palate and organic flowing shapes to make sure all brand elements create a natural feel that is intriguing and eye-catching to the viewer. A layered paper cut-out effect is also used throughout the brand system to hint at themes of decomposition.
Raleway is used as the primary typeface for titles and headers, and Proxima Nova is used for all body text and addition information. Both sans-serif typefaces utilize minimal variations in line width enabling an openness and legibility even when used at a small font size. Their straight edge form also playfully contrasts the organic shapes and layering that make up the brand’s main identity.
