BACKGROUND

After building a relationship between Watershed Bio and Women in Bioinformatics (WiB) I was asked to help plan and host an upcoming product launch event. WiB was launching a new networking app called Bioinformatics Sisters, aiming to help women in life science find community and mentorship. The evening included presentations from Watershed Bio and WiB plus a tutorial and product test of Bioinformatics Sisters. The event was a success with 90% of signees attending, connecting and giving great insight into the new app.

VOLUNTEERING

I’ve also had the opportunity to personally volunteer with WiB. Designing the logo and logotype for their new product, Bioinformatics Sisters. The design below is inspired by the connecting base pairs in DNA and the welcoming colors of WiB’s original logo.

WiB hosted a workshop to provide training on Nextflow pipelines and I was asked to combine their logos into stickers that would be given out during the event.
